New Home Development Coming to Eanes ISD

The former Eanes Independent School District parcel that had been planned for a second high school will now be the site of a new home community. The site, bordering the Lake Pointe subdivision off of Bee Caves Road, will have 132 homes in a gated neighborhood known as Lake’s Edge. While other Bee Caves neighborhoods are zoned for the Lake Travis Independent School District, Lake’s Edge students will attend Eanes ISD.

The Bee Cave City Council has approved development for the site. Homes are expected to be sized up to 4,000 square feet and are expected to be priced starting at around $500k. Occupancy may begin as early as 2017.

When Eanes’ proposal to turn the land into a second high school was shot down by voters, Eanes instead looked to sell some of the land, which was broken into parcels. Forty-seven acres will house the subdivision.

A 26-acre parcel still owned by Eanes ISD will become a sports field for the planned River Hills Road sports complex.

According to Community Impact, a trail system will be included in the neighborhood, and homes will have a public water system and a private wastewater system. It reported it is the hope that this new home neighborhood will add more students to Eanes ISD, which is “geographically restricted” as far as adding more homes into its boundaries, according to Lake’s Edge developer Clint Jones. Jones, who owns Regal Land Development, also created The Reserve at Lake Travis and The Summit at Lake Travis.
