West Lake Hills Westbank Library

Westbank Library and Laura’s Library have Westlake residents covered for summer fun for the whole family! From story times to arts and crafts to get-togethers for adults, the summer schedule is jam-packed with enriching activities.

All ages can join the Hola, Hola! Spanish Camp. Every Thursday at 10:30 a.m., kids and adults of any skill level can join this program designed to help parents read simple Spanish books to their children and to foster a love of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture.

All ages also can join on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. for Family Activity Night. Activities vary and can include crafts, laughter yoga, family meditation, and pajama story time.

Discovery! is for different age ranges depending on the event and includes activities like Writing Workshops and Mad Science. Discovery! is held every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Open Chess is a popular event held Mondays at 5 p.m. All ages are welcome to come play chess with other attendees of all skill levels.

The Saturday Matinee for all ages is held the third Saturday of the month at 2 p.m. Check the calendar for the movie, and bring a blanket and a pillow. The library will provide popcorn and lemonade!

Adults may like Meditation, held every Tuesday at noon and every third Saturday at 1 p.m., as well as Prime of Life Yoga, designed for those 35 and over (although all are welcome) and held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

The First Friday Genealogy group meets the first Friday of each month at 10 a.m. to share tips in finding lost ancestors using library resources.

Add in guided hikes, technology workshops, quilting, knitting, and story times for all ages, and Westbank Library and Laura’s Library have summer covered!
