The Eanes Independent School District and all of its nine schools earned state and national rankings in the latest report by Niche. The District earned recognition as the top district in the state for the third year in a row. Valley View Elementary ranked first in the state among elementary schools and 36th in the nation, and West Ridge Middle School ranked first in the state among middle schools and ninth nationally. Every Eanes ISD school ranked at least in the top six in the state.
Nationally, Eanes ISD ranked 17th and received a grade of A+. The District was second in Texas for Districts with the Best Teachers and third in the Best Places to Teach in Texas.
Westlake High School ranked fourth in the state and 59th nationally, and with a score of A+, was Texas’ only representative in the nation’s top 100 for comprehensive, four-year public schools.
Among Eanes’ remaining schools, Forest Trail Elementary ranked second in the state and 37th in the nation, Barton Creek Elementary ranked third in the state and 38th in the nation, Hill Country Middle School ranked third in the nation and 26th in the nation, Cedar Creek Elementary School ranked fourth in the state and 46th in the nation, Bridge Point Elementary ranked fifth in the state and 69th in the nation, and Eanes Elementary ranked sixth in the state and 84th in the nation. All Eanes ISD campuses received scores of A+.
Niche goes beyond state assessment scores in its rankings, in order to “reflect the entire school experience, including academics, teachers, diversity, student life, and student outcomes,” according to an Eanes ISD press release.
