The Westlake Hills Chamber of Commerce is issuing a call for nominations for its annual Westlake Hills Westies awards. The awards have been in place since 2008 and recognize “outstanding members of our community who have made extraordinary contributions in community service,” according to the Westlake Hills Chamber of Commerce website. The Westlake Hills Chamber also includes businesses in the city of Rollingwood.
The upcoming awards celebration will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 and is the tenth annual awards presentation. The event is also a luncheon and will be held at the Hotel Granduca at 11:30 a.m.
Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Westlake Citizen of the Year
- Westlake Young Citizen of the Year
- Westlake Educator the Year
- Westlake Non-Profit of the Year
- New Business of the Year
- Westlake Business of the Year
Nominations for the awards are being accepted now through November 10, 2017. Nominations can be made in person or online, and the top three nominees for each category will receive recognition as Westies Finalists. Individuals may make nominations in any or all categories for as many people as they would like to nominate. Finalists will be announced at the annual Wonderfest on December 3, 2017. From the finalists, voting for the winners will occur from December 3, 2017 to February 2, 2018.
